The financial services landscape is changing with insurgents rapidly entering from tech giants with vast resources to agile FinTech companies. With customer deposits and importantly the touchpoint with the customers at stake, how can incumbent banks remain relevant? The threat is only beginning but once momentum builds it can be tricky to curb. How can incumbents deliver game-changing innovation? Which approach is more effective, internal innovation (cultural transformation) or partnerships and acquisitions (tech transformation)? Is partnering with the insurgents a viable option and what would that look like?
