Aldi Haryopratomo
GO-PAY
CEO
Aldi joined GO-JEK with a vision to accelerate the adoption of financial services for the unbanked and underbanked, particularly in rural areas where financial services are yet widely available. He is the founder of MAPAN, an Indonesian lending network recently acquired by GO-JEK Group alongwith two other local fintech startups. Aldi built MAPAN because he believes that by harnessing the power of these communities we can boost equality. He grew the company from inception to the organisation it is today, with nearly 2,000 employees serving 1 million members in 110 cities across Indonesia.
Aldi has dedicated his entire career to supporting lower income communities to improve their lives. He was an early employee at Kiva, a San Francisco based non-profit organization, for which he toured around Indonesia, Cambodia and Vietnam on a motorbike in search of microfinance banks. He then worked at The Boston Consulting Group focused mostly on clients targeting bottom-of-the-pyramid consumers. His work included the development of a business model for agent banking in Pakistan.
Aldi holds an MBA from the Harvard Business School and a B.A. in Engineering from Purdue University. He was elected as a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum in 2012 and Endeavor Entrepreneur of The Year in 2016.
