Steve is a strategic business advisor with over 25 years experience gained in Europe, USA, and APAC. He joined Thunes (Previously TransferTo) in August 2018, to lead the business expansion and transformation of the enterprise as a pure-play FinTech organisation.

For the last 2 years Steve was advising Grab, the leading Online Transport provider in Southeast Asia in their successful battle to beat Uber. Based in Indonesia, he helped drive growth at Grab sevenfold to more than 3.5 million rides per day.

His previous operational role was Founder and Managing Director for Xiaomi Southeast Asia, creating and implementing strategies for selling their disruptive brand of smartphones and consumer technology outside of China. During his time with Xiaomi, Steve established operations in Singapore, Malaysia, Indonesia, Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam, generating revenue of more than $200M per annum.

He also negotiated deals that helped launch distributor-lead operations in the Middle East and Africa. Prior to Xiaomi, Steve worked for Navteq/Nokia for 10 years, helping partners such as Samsung, HP, Dell, and Sony create new location-based businesses.
Steve was formerly a Manager with McKinsey & Company, the leading strategy consultants. His passion is helping companies leverage technology to capture new business opportunities.
Steve started his career in Consumer Marketing and Brand Management, where he worked for several leading packaged goods companies. He has an MBA from MIT Sloan School of Management, and a BSc from Oxford University.
